School's out!

Hey, Guess what!!!!
I'm done with school for the year! What am I going to do now, you might ask?
Well, I am going to do some more behind-the-wheel driving with the lovely ADS.
And, I'm going to knit my 3rd baby afghan.
And read the Bible in 90 days. I am already 10% of the way through the Bible in 10 days. :)

Living Free-False Doctrines

These are my notes from church this week!

Living Free-False Doctrines
"Galatians 1:6-10"
We only want to embrance Christ's greatness-nobody else's!
-Any discussion of false doctrine needs to begin with the TRUE doctrine.
1. True Gospel
A. If it's not the gospel of grace, it's not the gospel of all!
Grace Acronym
God's
Riches
At
Christ's
Expense
B.Salvation comes by God's grace alone through faith in Christ alone.
C. Sanctification comes by God's grace alone through Christ alone.
"Galatians 3:1-3"
They were foolish by attempting to gain sanctification by doing works, when they saw Jesus being crucified with their very eyes.
We will not be charged ANYTHING for our salvation and sanctification.
Jesus already payed the price.
2. False Gospel
A. Any gospel that adds to or changes the simple presentation of the gospel is false.
B. It's hard to get where you want to go if you have wrong information.
There are many doctrines that people have made up that are not in Scripture.
There is ONE true gospel, and many false doctrines.
3. Our Gospel
A. What are we going to do with this marvelous gospel?
B. What are we going to do with this powerful Savior?

We've become way too sophisticated. The gospel has become ordinary to us bcause we've heard it so many times. It's not ordinary! It's magnificent. What are we going to do with it? Are we going to allow it to influence us?
Do we really want to allow it to be just ordinary? Embrace the Gospel and Savior!
It'll change your life!

Reading the Bible in 90 days!

A couple days ago, I thought to myself "There is NO reason I can't be reading the Bible every day. I am going to read every day like I have before." Then, I started looking at the reading plans on my YouVersion app on my phone, and I decided to read the Bible in 90 days.
I've told myself many times that I don't have time to read the Bible. Then I think about what I just said. I really don't have time to study the ONLY reason I am on this earth? Think again, Kathleen.
Check out the other plans that YouVersion has to offer!

Living Free-Firm Foundations

These are my sermon notes from today....Is He your firm foundation?

Living Free-Firm Foundations
Dr Steve Washburn
"Galatians 1:1-5"
We need to understand the foundations upon which our faith rests.
1. The Father's Work.
A. He authored a plan to rescue us through His Son's death.
B. He raised Jesus from the dead.
-Why is this important?
If Jesus' death on the cross paid the sins of all men, can't I come before the Father without Jesus having to die?
Nope, if you go before God, and Jesus hadn't lived again, we would stay in the grave.
C. He gives us grace and peace
-We want to be recipients of grace to wash us and peace to calm us.
Only God can give it!
Gold sure doesn't buy grace or peace!
2. The Savior's Work
A. He gave Himself for our sins
My sins require someone to die. Either me or Jesus.
God is so blindingly holy that even the smallest speck of sin can only be blotted away by blood.
-Jesus loves me enough to wash my sins away with His blood rather than mine.
B. Jesus came back from the dead.
-He was bodily ressurected from the grave.
Do I really believe that Jesus was risen from the grave?
If you don't believe that, there is no point in calling yourself a "Christian".
C. He offers to rescue us from this evil age.
He has provided an opportunity to gain escape and be rescued!
Many people reject His offer and stay in this evil age.
3. The Apostles' work
-They were sent by Jesus (verse 1)
A. They are the spokespersons of Jesus Himself to us.
"John 17:20"
He wasn't praying only for the apostles, but also for the apostles messages to us!
B. Their writings (the Scriptures) are the foundation upon which we build our lives.
God is strong enough to prevent people from changing the words of the Scripture.
The Bible is a firm foundation!

Stand FIRM!

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

-Galatians 5:1

Guess what? Satan's joy is to try to make you stumble, and many of us fall into that trap. We need to stand firm and remember that Christ has covered our sins and we are no longer burdened by that.

My Bible Curriculum in school is pretty cool and I've learned a lot from it, like this:

How to Overcome the Wiles of the Devil and His Demonic Host.

1. Realize that Satan is more powerful than you are. (You aren't going to overcome Him without the strength of the Omnipotent One)

2. Pray daily for God's help against the enemy.

3. Work constantly at maturing in every area in your Christian life (Ephesians 6:10-18)

4. Know the Bible very well. (Every time Jesus was tempted by the Devil, He responded with Scripture, Satan also quoted Scripture but took it out of context and misapplied it)

5. Guard against your areas of weakness and be sensitive to the circumstances which bring temptation to you.

6. Ask God for the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.

**This post was inspired by Teen CBS .....Next week is the last week until August, and this year, we studied Romans. Our "themes" this year were "Dig Deep" and "Do not be ashamed of the Gospel!"
I've seen examples and I know, that if you are not dug firmly into God and don't have His words buried in your heart, Satan is going to jump at the opportunity to get the best of you.
Always remember that God is for you, not against you!

I have nothing to blog about....

I know, sad day.
I have nothing really on my mind.
(Except for Julius Caesar, that is...Not very happily, might I add...)
Hopefully I will think of something inspiring/exciting to blog about soon!

Every Spirit that acknowledges that Jesus has come..

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every Spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

-1 John 4:1-3
