Hope in the Lord

A Song of Ascents. Of David. Lord, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.
Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, hope in the Lord
From this time forth and forever.

-Psalm 131

I think too often we concern ourselves with "What will Heaven look like? Will it be on earth, or in the sky? Will he be there? Surely SHE won't be there...right?"
David is saying here, that He HAS stopped concerning himself with great matters and things too profound for him. We need to learn from him.We needn't concern ourselves with thngs too lofty and profound. God didn't tell us in His Word exactly where Heaven would be, or what exactly it would look like (He has given us broad descriptions, but sometimes we want more...Like 'How many houses to a street..' or 'Will there even be streets?'. He also said that only HE knows who will be in Heaven. The people we are just SURE will be in Heaven, may not be there at all!
The only thing we can do is hope in the Lord and not worry about anything too lofty for our own good.

Long time...No Blog...

Hey peeps!
I haven't blogged in FOREVER! But, I have an excuse. I've been babysitting at least 8 hours a week (over 2-3 days) and doing school and Christmas shopping and getting ready for Wisconsin (YAY!) and...and...and.... :)

Here's a couple passages for y'all.

"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the laws my servant Moses gave to you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever we go.
This is what the Lord says-your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the Lord your God, who teachers you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea." "

-Joshua 1:7,Isaiah 48:17-18

Be strong and courageous in your faith, even when it's tough...and listen to God! He knows the master plan and knows what is best for us. In this passage, it says "If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river..." Hmmm, what would it be like to really have peace flowing like a river?
