He who holds his tongue is wise....

Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. HE who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son. Blessings crown the head of the righteous but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

I caved.....again

Anyone remember this post?????

Well....I may have caved again. Not from the detox, but from my pact of not going to Starbucks. Oops. I guess it's okay because it was free pastry day, right??????? :D

You are IN the world, but are not to be OF the world

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
-Romans 12:2

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
-1 John 2:15

You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
-James 4:4

Okay, SO, I have been hearing a lot lately about how it's okay to consciously sin, knowing that you will be forgiven. I honestly don't believe this is true. We have forgiveness because Jesus died on the cross, but if we are truly in love with God, we should be wanting to please Him and not consciously sinning.

I am not going to get into my opinions on the following, I am just going to quote the Bible, because I don't believe that the Bible was given to pick apart parts that "feel good" but, that the book as a whole was given as a "road map" to life.

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
-Ephesians 5:18

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
-Ephesians 4:29

**By this time, I know a lot of you are thinking "Yup, she's saying all this because she thinks she's perfect. That is not at ALL why I am saying it! I'm quoting the Bible and what I believe that it says we all need to work on in order to be examples to those of the world, because really, if we are doing what the world is doing, we are no different than them. We are supposed to be DIFFERENT. Non-believers look at many of "us Christians" and think "Wow, they're doing THAT and they claim to be a 'Christian'? I do the same things and I'm not a Christian. What's the difference?"

I know, I know...

I haven't blogged in forever...
I've been busy.
I had surgery on my left hand on Tuesday to remove a ganglion cyst. My arm had to be in a sling until yesterday and I can't get it wet until tomorrow.
It is sore, and it hurts a little bit, but it's all good.

(I know that isn't an excuse for my lack of blogging, I will try to do better)

I hope you have a great day!!

Day 2 of Jenna's Vacation

(Jenna's blog is here)

It's already almost 7:15 tomorrow morning in Israel!
Tonight they will stay in Tiberias, Israel and tour Mt. Carmel, Elija’s Cave, Meggido, Haifa: Bahia Garden, Nazareth Village Church of Annunciation, and Cana. (According to the Itinerary)
I'm sure she is having a great time, but we haven't been able to talk to her. We've gotten 2 emails, I think...
Sadly, she is having issues with the WiFi on her iPhone AND the calling card that she took!
So, she hasn't been able to call us or Skype us, yet.
She says she is having fun, but is very tired with the 8 hour time difference.
Please continue to pray for the group's safety and that they would learn as much about Israel as they can!

Day 1 of Jenna's Vacation...

So, yesterday Jenna left for Israel,
This house is SO empty already without her.
She is going to have so much fun and learn so much over there...
Gracie (our dog) has been sitting on MY lap (she doesn't really like me) and just sits in the middle of the floor looking pitiful, I think she misses Jenna.
I miss her too.
The sad thing is, we dropped her off 24 hours ago, and she won't be back for another 176 hours. Not that I'm counting or anything :)

His love NEVER fails!

"Your Love Never Fails" by Jesus Culture

Nothing can separate
Even if I ran away
Your love never fails
I know I still make mistakes
But You have new mercies for me everyday
Your love never fails

You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There maybe pain in the night but joy comes in the morning
And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails

The wind is strong and the water's deep
But I'm not alone in these open seas
Cause Your love never fails

The chasm is far too wide
I never thought I'd reach the other side
But Your love never fails

You make all things work together for my good

I know, I know, I'm back to the lyrics, and you're all probably sick of them...but I really like the messages in songs.
Think about it, really think about it.
NOTHING can separate us from God, even if we run away, He's ALWAYS there.
No matter what we do, He loves us! That love NEVER changes.
I really don't have to be afraid, because He loves me and He's always with me!

Maybe it's just me, but I think these are quite powerful lyrics when you actually think about them!
